At Music with McKell, we offer a variety of music programs designed to meet the needs of students at every stage of their musical journey. Whether your child is just beginning or looking to refine their skills, our lessons and group programs provide a structured yet fun learning environment.
Private Music Lessons
One-on-one lessons provide personalized instruction to help students build strong musical foundations. Each lesson is tailored to the student’s level and learning style, focusing on:
Technique & posture for proper playing skills
Music theory & sight-reading to improve understanding
Ear training & musicality for expressive playing
Repertoire & performance prep for recitals and competitions

Lesson Pricing:
15-minute weekly lessons – $67/month (For younger beginners, ages 4-6)
30-minute weekly lessons – $135/month (Recommended for ages 5-10 or multiple instruments)
45-minute weekly lessons – $200/month (For students 11+ or Level 2 and beyond)
1-hour weekly lessons – $270/month (For serious musicians working on advanced repertoire)

Studio Classes
Studio classes provide students with additional learning opportunities beyond their private lessons. These group sessions allow students to:
Play for and learn from their peers in a supportive environment
Strengthen rhythm, ear training, and music theory skills
Gain performance confidence before recitals
Studio class dates are announced in the monthly newsletter.
Studio classes are INCLUDED in tuition!

Music Education & Practice Support
At Music with McKell, we believe that educating both students and parents leads to success. We provide:
Practice strategies to help students build consistent habits at home

How Much Should My Student Practice?
Beginners (Ages 4-6): 5-10 minutes a day, 5 days a week
Elementary Level (Ages 7-10): 15-30 minutes a day, 5 days a week
Intermediate & Advanced Students: 30-60 minutes a day, 5+ days a week
Mini Orchestra
Our Mini Orchestra is an exciting opportunity for string students to play together, develop ensemble skills, and grow as musicians.
Wednesdays from 3:00 – 4:00 PM
$10/month (added to tuition)
Open to violin, viola, and cello students who are comfortable reading music
Playing in a group helps students develop listening skills, rhythm, and confidence. It’s also a great way to prepare for school orchestras and future ensemble opportunities!
Spring & Christmas Recitals
Performance is an essential part of learning an instrument! We hold two major recitals each year where students can showcase their progress:

Additional performance opportunities may arise throughout the year. Students are encouraged (but not required) to participate.
